i agree, but i often wonder how much if it is dramatic editing.  he does tend to spout off some pretty cocky rhetoric.

that's why I say 'what I've seen of him' -- I'm thinking it could be editing. He seems nasty to Thom Gunn though, which I Do. Not. Like. It's like that girl, what's her name -- a few seasons back -- the very 60's girl with brown hair and very red lips. That season with Korto where Lynette won....

Emilio is kinda being painted as a bit of a villain, ain't he? And Seth as the gollygee-whiz-nice guy.

That was Kenley.  Her attitude toward any criticism was awful, wasn't it?  The same with Emilio, it's like they can't imagine anyone not liking their work.

I finally caught up on Masters and I'm thrilled with the winner! Yay! He's one of my favorite chefs.


And I am so excited for Top Chef DC, just the thought of it makes me squeal! The first show was great but I would've kicked off the but-I-didn't-have-my-recipe-memorized chick. Seriously, if you need to read a recipe then you're not a good enough chef for this competition. And how friggin awesome is Kenny? I so want him to wipe up the floor with that cocky bastard next week!


(I still haven't seen the finale of the last season of PR but I've been really good about avoiding spoilers and I still don't know who won. )

totally.  we also stopped watching about halfway thru last season, for some reason.     and i haven't even been watching top chef while j is out of town.  maybe we'll catch up while he's home this week.

hey retards on project runway:

the first challenge is more often that not this: to make an outfit out of something in your suitcase.  please come prepared.

also, when they tell you to take something out of your suitcase to make an outfit from, it's gonna get destroyed.  don't choose your mostest favoritest item or some thousand-dollar pants that you just bought.  how can you be surprised when those thousand-dollar pants get ripped up and turned into a ballgown?

c'mon.  the show's been on the air for a while.  you saw this coming, right?

This show could be so much better! I don't understand why they're so hung up on creating artificial drama (OMG MAYBE 2 PEOPLE WILL GO HOME ) and doing these stupid short challenges. I would so much rather just watch them make interesting clothes with enough time to actually do their ideas justice. I mean, the point of the show is that we like watching them make clothes, watching their plans take shape, right? They don't need all the extra garbage! Just give them more time!

I agree. Watched this online last night. The challenge was doomed from the start. 5 hours was ridiculous.

Also, I could well be proven wrong, but this seemed like an incredibly weak group of contestants. 5 hours or no, I thought that what came down the runway was either awful or meh.
